This week our class began to learn the routines for word study. Word study, teaches students how to look at words so that they can construct an understanding of how spelling works. Once our routines are set, each child will be able to work with words specific to his/her needs. Today the kids learned what to do during the blind sort. A blind sort is where one child reads the word and the other child indicates where the word belongs without seeing it.
